  • A Conversation with Dark Horse's Chris Warner About 20 years ago when I first visited San Diego, I remember I was struck by the palm trees and the odd mix of architectural styles. The high-rises look like LA, the apartment buildings look like Vancouver, BC, and the little two-story brick buildings in between come straight from Main Street, USA. The effect of all these styles and the palm trees...

  • Here's what it's like to be at Comic-Con: The convention floor is packed shoulder to shoulder and chest to back. You lumber along slowly at the pace of the crowd, your eyes are dazzled by gargantuan video screens flashing quick-cut coming attractions filled with blood and monsters and screams. Brigades of beautiful girls and handsome boys pass out fliers and buttons, beckon you into booths to...

And what's not to like?Dale's probably...

  • Landing at Heathrow Airport, still a bit groggy from the flight, I caught the Heathrow Express to Paddington station and my hotel. Entering London this way it's easy to forget that this sprawling city is really a river town. The River Thames winds through central London past all the sites you heard about as a kid. Big Ben towers iconically over the city, Tower Bridge looks more like a military...

  • First a Little Background… This column started with a phone call. Tracy Swedlow called me from Manhattan and yelled, "Brian, I just spent the entire day in New York and there are screens everywhere!"She went on to say she had an idea for a column for [itvt]. It was a simple idea: my book Screen Future is going to be published in July 2010. To support the project, I'm going on a six month book...
